Upgrading Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2 to RC4

Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC4I just upgraded my Nexian Journey NX-A890 from Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2 to Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC4. At first I was reluctant, but yesterday I finally decided to risk it because of several things. I found that the battery drained quickly when I was still using Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2, although I don’t really remember any other bugs that I found annoying.

I remember that the battery goes from fully charged to empty in less than 12 hours which is very bad, and it was due to light usage. I don’t know how long it will last when under heavy use (gaming, browsing, multiple synced apps, etc). So I decided to risk upgrading to 6.1 RC4. I found the battery lasted a while longer although still not significant enough.

What I found annoying is that it took a while for the home screen icons to reappear after I returned from a program that I used. Sometimes it took more than 5 seconds before I can see the icons in my home screen. I don’t really know what caused it but it kinds of strange for me because I didn’t experience such thing when I am still using Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC4.

Overall though, I found it to be more stable than the Nightly Builds; the ones that I have tried though. There are several new Nightly Builds if you want to try using it, but for the time being I’ll stick with the Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC4.
