Ubuntu 8.04 - The Hardy Heron
I was browsing the web as usual tonight when I suddenly remembered that it has been more than a month since the latest version of Ubuntu was released. If you didn’t know, Ubuntu is the only Operating System (and a free one at that) who is scheduled for a new version release every 6 months. That is twice in a year!
If you look at the version number, 8.04 means that that Ubuntu version was released at the year of 2008 ( the number 8 ) and at the month of April ( the number 04 ). This is the eighth release of Ubuntu, and knowing its dependability to release a new version for every 6 months, the next version of Ubuntu (8.10) will be released on October later this year.
If you read on my old post in January about how to uninstall Ubuntu from a dual boot machine (with Windows XP), then you surely know that uninstalling Ubuntu is not an easy task to do, especially for those with little technical skill. Luckily I found the way to do just that by searching about it on Google.
But, after reading Ubuntu’s website earlier tonight, I decided that I would try to install and use Ubuntu again. Why? Because they said on the website that Ubuntu version 8.04 (codenamed Hardy Heron) will feature easy to use uninstall option so that people could do that without much hassle.
I am going to start downloading the program tonight, hopefully it will have finished downloading by morning. I will write again about it after I have successfully installed Ubuntu. See you all later!
