The Effects of Gasoline Price Increase

As you can read on my post regarding the increase in Indonesia’s Gasoline Price, it is now been three days since the price of Fuel first declared. Already the newspaper, television and even my co-workers are discussing it every day.

It is not the price of the fuel itself that got talked about the most, but rather the side-effect that happened because of the fuel price increase. That is the basic and even not-so-basic commodities price which also increased due to the fuel price increase.

Even now the cost or the fee for public transportation is increasing rapidly and almost simultaneously, and also the price of food and other services afterwards. That can also means that buying or building a new house, or even renovating an old one, is going to get more expensive as well.

Regarding a price of a new house, I have always wondered about the price range of houses in the US. And I tried to find a good website or two about this. After searching for a while, I found a chain of property website by Coldwell Banker. Beside their main website which listed not just houses in the US but several other countries as well, they also have several other websites which focused on parts of the US, such as this Wilmington real estate website which focused on the Southeastern North Carolina area in the US.

Finding out house prices in the US using their website is actually kind of fun. The price range itself is amazing; I’ve found houses which costs around US$ 10,000 to houses with a US$85,000,000 price tag. I can barely keep my jaw closed! I don’t think you can exactly call it a house, perhaps a manor or palace is more fitting description?

Anyway, back to reality regarding the fuel price increase. At first people may complain and talked about how the fuel increase is making our lives harder. But in the end, the talking and he complaining will end and we will end up doing what we do best so far, surviving and living our live day-by-day as always, although until how long and how well, only time can tell.
