Saying Goodbye is Never Easy
It was only my first week after I was transferred to my new division of Network Admin / Support when sudenly one of my co-worker from my new division quits the job for reason that I cannot disclose of here. Even though we’ve only been working together in the same team for less than a week, but I’ve known him since I first start working on the company.
There’s still a lot of things that I want to learn from him, and unique as he is though, he is still a very fun and knowledgeable person. He’s smart and knows a lot of things that I cannot find easily or that which would take a long time for me to acquire.
We’ve had our parting dinner together, the Admin / Support guys, to bid him farewell. It is always hard saying goodbyes, especially to a dear fellow. His infectious laughter will be missed by many as is his unique personality. It is also because there’s a lot of project at the moment, and his leaving us will surely have an impact to the projected timetable / deadline.
He said this is al perhaps for the best though, especially because he’s been thinking of starting his own business. I have always admire people who have the courage to make their own business. It took a lot of guts to make that kind of decision.
I have to admit, I was kind of afraid that the project cannot be finished on schedule now. If we devote our time to just doing the project, then I’m sure we will be able to meet the deadline even if we have to work with one less people than before.
As it happened, beside doing the project, we also have to cope with troubleshooting the user’s pc and also doing some mundane works which range from cleaning up user’s pc from viruses, installing printer and even picking up which type of computer memory that is suitable for uprading certain computers.
However busy and mundane the job may seem, but I still like the nonetheless. My interest in computer and it stuffs sure helped me a lot through this. I just hope that we will still be able to finish the project. We’ll just have to wait and see, until then, see you around!!
