A have a very interesting experience today. It stall started yesterday when a cousin of mine sent a text message concerning my other cousin which happened to be on holiday here in Indonesia. Because she and her parents live in a far away country, we didn’t get to meet very often and it has been 2 years since we last met her.
Her holiday here is coming to an end and she and her parents have to go back to their home next week, so we are planning to meet together, grab a bite and have some fun before tonight. My cousin suggested that we have dinner together at the Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta.
Because almost all of us worked full time, my cousin said that we will all have dinner on Friday night, after office hours. I agreed and I arrived half an hour late after the appointed time since work is holding me back at the office. When I arrived, my cousin who arranged the event have already arrived with her younger sister. Not very long after that, my cousin’s husband arrived. Read the rest of this entry »

It was only my first week after I was transferred to my new division of Network Admin / Support when sudenly one of my co-worker from my new division quits the job for reason that I cannot disclose of here. Even though we’ve only been working together in the same team for less than a week, but I’ve known him since I first start working on the company.
There’s still a lot of things that I want to learn from him, and unique as he is though, he is still a very fun and knowledgeable person. He’s smart and knows a lot of things that I cannot find easily or that which would take a long time for me to acquire. Read the rest of this entry »

It has been more than 6 years since I first joined the company where I work now. I have to admit that the older I get, the faster I feel that time is passing. I remember thinking back then when I was still in school about how slowly time passes. I never liked school that much though, but it had some very memorable and fun times also.
People use to say that you should get a job that you love, that way it won’t feel like you are working at all, you’re merely doing your hobby and get paid in the process. But real life doesn’t always go that way, because you can’t get everything you want. It was the same experience that I had for the first six years.
My job was quite fun and challenging, and I learned a great deal from it. Read the rest of this entry »

Birthday is usually a happy occasion for people who celebrated it. What I usually find to be a little difficult is how to pick the right present whenever close relatives is having their birthday. I usually have a hard time thinking about what to write in the birthday greeting card.
Back then I usually write to wish them a long and happy life, but although (probably) we would love to live forever, writing this to elderly person is somewhat inappropriate for me. I mean, how long do we wish them to live? Lately, I began wishing them more wisdom for each time they got older. But yesterday, a friend of mine is responding differently. You might think it’s a strange title for a post especially coming from me, but I have to be honest, one of the thing that disappoint me is the lack of security in the airport here in Jakarta. There have been a lot of complaints about passenger’s lost luggage and belongings. Even then, the security is still lacking.
I don’t really know the statistics and my knowledge on this matter is somewhat limited. The main source where I got the news regarding this matter are from one of the local newspaper (KOMPAS) and from the internet news portal. But judging from the frequency of such news, I would say that there’s quite a lot of passengers which experiences such loss.
What usually happen is when people arrived here at Jakarta International Airport Soekarno-Hatta, and wait for their luggage to come out, only to find that it has been tampered with. I remembered reading about it once where the luggage is still intact with no signs of being tampered, but the valuables inside is missing. Read the rest of this entry »
