Lose Weight By Exercising
I used to try to lose weight by cutting on my calories intake, sometimes drastically. Although I managed to lose some weight initially, it was not very effective in the long run. There were times when I have to eat more than I need to, and after that my weight just bounced back to where it used to be.
I must admit I was clueless about losing weight the right and healthy way. I was somewhat pessimistic about my chances, so when I made losing weight as my New Year resolution, I searched the internet about the effective way to do so.
It has been almost 8 months now and since then I managed to lose 22lbs, as any of you who have read some of my latest posts should have known by now. It was not much but it was all I need to lower my BMI from the overweight range to the normal weight range. If you want to calculate your BMI, you can try this BMI calculator at the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute’s website.
Since I am losing weight the right way, that is by combining diet and exercise, it doesn’t really affected my weight if I have to occasionally eat a lot more than I used to. I eat 5 to 6 times a day with a total calories intake around what is my body needs when on its Metabolic Resting Rate (MRM) calories requirement.
By exercising, I managed to keep my body’s actual calories requirement above what my body would need when on its MRM. That way, I eat less than what I need and the exercise helped build muscles and increase heart rate. That way I burned fat more efficiently.
So that was why I was upset when I found out about this article about “Why Exercise Won’t Make You Thin” on Times.com. There’s no way you could get thin if you always eat more calories than what you’ve lost during an exercise routine. That way the only thing that kept you from getting thin is yourself.
Anyway, I found out about this article from Bob Harper’s page on Facebook. Ever since I watched the Biggest Loser Show on TV, I have been a big fan of Bob. Anyway, it is time to take some rest now. See you all later!
