Euro 2008 Final Showdown

Okay, I admit that the title is somewhat ‘inappropriate’, for lack of a better word. Anyway, back to the matter at hand, tonight in the Ernst-Happel Stadium in Vienna, Austria, the final match of Euro 2008 between Germany and Spain is going to take place.

After almost a month of quality football (most of them though) Euro 2008 ending is almost here. After tonight’s match (or early morning here in Indonesia) we can all go back to our normal sleeping schedule. Staying up until the early morning just to watch a single football match is tiring, doing that for almost a month is asking for early retirement.

As much as I wanted to watch the final match, I don’t think I will. Thanks to the qualifying stage and the quarter finals, especially the one between Italy and Spain, and not to mention that I only get to sleep for around 4 hours since I still have to go to work, my body warned me that I needed a rest, a lot of them.

And how does your body told you that you needed a rest? Well, you got sick, plain and simple. People have told me that getting sick is my body’s way of telling me that I need a rest. And this time I caught the flu, with mild fever, nausea and a bad case of sore throat.

I actually felt better right now as I sit here in front of my computer doing another post for my blog, but considering that this morning I still have to go to work, I decided not to watch the final match. I just hope that I won’t regret it later. Germany and Spain fighting for their European Championship title is just something most football fan wouldn’t want to miss.

I really wish that Spain wins, since they are the better team this time. But there is a reason why they called Germany the tournament specialist team. Oh I better stop writing now before the temptation to watch the match grows even bigger. Anyway, see you later!
