The Effect of Not Working Out

It has been a while since I last do any workout, and I am paying the price even as I typed these words. I lack more energy, both physically and mentally. I got exhausted more easily, where before I can do physical activities that require physical fitness and stamina with ease. To sum it up, I feel less healthy than before, when I still exercise regularly at least two or three times a week.

It has been a personal flaw of mine that I tend to procrastinate. I always said that there will always be tomorrow almost everytime I am thinking of doing something that I don’t really want. Will there always be tomorrow? We know very well that someday, tomorrow won’t come for us. That is bound to happen, sooner or later.

I found out long ago that if I haven’t started doing something, the hardest thing to do is getting started. When I already started doing something, it is considerably easier to keep doing it. Having someone who encourage me also have the same effect, whether intentionally or unintentionally. I just have to keep doing it because if I stopped doing it for a period of time, I might end up stopping for a long time before I can muster the will to start doing it again. Cancer Sores

The positive side in writing a blog in a language that is not your native is you’re bound to learn a lot from the experience. I know I have learned a great deal of things since I started writing in English, which is not my native language. It was very fun although it could be time consuming at times.

I got to learn words that are rarely heard on an everyday conversation, such as the one I use as this post’s title, Canker sores or sariawan in Bahasa Indonesia. As it happened, I have one in my mouth that just won’t go away that easily. I tried brushing my teeth more, using mouthwash, but no avail. Read the rest of this entry »

Back Problems

Ever since I pulled my back when playing with my children, it still feels tight at times. I admit I didn’t always keep a straight pose all the time, both during sitting and during walking; although it was somewhat harder to keep sitting straight all the time at work, especially when I am feeling somewhat lazy.

My back feels better lately, although I need to keep reminding myself to sit straight. I know that the chair that we used can also help us sit straight. I also tried to tell my children to sit straight even though they are sitting on the floor. I guess I need to go and check my daughter’s school to see what kind of chair they use there. Missing it Out Again

This is getting boring, if I might say. I should have done my workout routine for 3 days at last; but this week I’ve only done it once. I have gained around 3lbs since last week, and missing my routine surely won’t help me keep my weight stable. Of course the holiday is partly to blame, since I tend to eat more when I am on holiday.

Anyway, I should have done my workout routine tonight, but I decided that I won’t do any work out if it was past midnight already. I guess I took too long cleaning my PC from dust earlier tonight. I decided that my PC needed cleaning more than I need my workout. It was way too dirty from dust. Read the rest of this entry »

Lose Weight By Exercising

I used to try to lose weight by cutting on my calories intake, sometimes drastically. Although I managed to lose some weight initially, it was not very effective in the long run. There were times when I have to eat more than I need to, and after that my weight just bounced back to where it used to be.

I must admit I was clueless about losing weight the right and healthy way. I was somewhat pessimistic about my chances, so when I made losing weight as my New Year resolution, I searched the internet about the effective way to do so. Read the rest of this entry »
