After the Break

As of several days ago, Euro 2008 has ended, and with it comes the rest period. I have to tell you that waking up late until the early hours of the morning to watch football, rest for 4 hours and then waking up and go to work is very tiring. So you can imagine how tiring it must be if the match is held almost every day in a month.

I got very tired and lacked sleep badly, even more so than blogging that I got sick with flu. I got mild fever, sore throat and a bad case of headache. It is not until today that I feel better, but still not fully recovered from the sickness, especially the coughing.

The bad thing in getting sick is that there is a chance that people who lives in the same house as you are will get sick too, and that happened to me also. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Import Posts From Blogger to WordPress

Blogger and WordPress LogoIf you know the word ‘blog’, chances are you also know of a website called Blogger, where you can create your own blog for free. No setting up, monthly or even yearly fee unless you want to use your own domain name. I also use their free service to create a blog when I started blogging in 2004, although I didn’t blog that often. But lately, more and more people started blogging not only as a means to express themselves, but also to earn money.

There are now more than 50 million blog sites on the internet with around 170.000 more blog sites is created every day, that is approximately 2 blog sites per second. So I decided to continue blogging, but this time with an added incentive, that is to try and make some extra cash from my blog. Read the rest of this entry »

Wordpress 2.5 Released

This must be the most blogged about topic in the blogging world right now, even the top blog sites are posting about it although perhaps not very detailed yet. Considering that a lot of people are using Wordpress as the basis of their blog, this is not a very surprising thing. I myself use Wordpress for building my blog and so far I have to say that I am very satisfied with it. Besides allowing people who have nothing or minimal knowledge in web building to have a very professional blog, it is also easy enough to install.

If you want to build your own blog, Wordpress is quite frankly the best choice for you, because most hosting companies now provide the tool to build Wordpress with just a couple of mouse clicks. Read the rest of this entry »

What I Love About PayPerPost

Pay Per Post LogoIf you read my last post about PayPerPost then you surely know that I am waiting for their approval regarding my blog. Yesterday they contacted me via e-mail saying that my blog has been approved and I can start looking for opportunities that I can write a review about. But before I started looking for opportunities, I want to share my experiences and opinion of PayPerPost so far.

I like the fact that PayPerPost is willing to give new blogger a chance by taking into consideration blogs that is only around 30 days old, and have around 10 unique posts minimal, where other website(s) usually only consider blogs that is at least twice as old and also have twice or more posts. I think that showed how much PayPerPost actually cares about new blogs and blogger.

I first found out about PayPerPost from another site in the Internet. At first I thought that it is hard to make money from the internet, even if I love what I am doing. But since I found out about PayPerPost, I begin to realize that perhaps there are ways to actually make money from the internet, especially if I look and try hard enough. I learned a lot since then, I even make some new friends along the way. I also learned that the persons who actually manage to make money from the internet is also the ones who gives a lot back to other people.

Such people I believe is also the people behind PayPerPost. You earn what you give, they said. And it is evident in PayPerPost blog ethics, in the values that they uphold such as honesty and the spirit of giving. And I hope I can be a part of it, which is by giving my best more and more. I also hope that someday I can make money from the internet and use that money to help myself and my family and also to help others who is less fortunate. Once again I thank PayPerPost for giving me a chance to actually do that, and best wishes for the future.

How To Know If Your Site Has Been Duplicated

Copyscape Website’s ScreenshotAs any webmaster will tell you, in the internet the most important thing is traffic. Even if your writing skill could earn you a Pulitzer prize, if no one is actually reading your writing, then your writing skill will do you no good. But if your writing skill is good or even just okay, and there are hundreds or even thousands of people who read and actually likes your writing, then you have much more to gain.

When you write about something you like, or if writing is one of your passion, surely you don’t want people to plagiarize your writing and claim it as their own. But since there are literally millions of blogs out there in the Internet, finding out whether one or several blog has done just that is almost, if not, impossible. Read the rest of this entry »
