America has finally decided on who they would like to see on American Idol Top 12. On the American Idol Top 16 Result Show last Thursday, American Idol reveals who made it to the Top 12. If you read my post about the Top 8 Male Contestants, then you’ll surely notice that, in my opinion, Luke and Danny are going home. As it happened, America also felt the same way about who should go through to the next round. Make no mistake, they are not bad singers, it’s just that the others are better.

Unfortunately, because of circumstances, I haven’t been able to post my opinion about the Top 8 Female Contestants. I do think that Kady will go home, but for the other one I don’t really know for sure. As it happened, Kady and Asia’h are going home. Asia’h is a good singer, but perhaps now, more than ever, America is actually paying attention and believing what Simon said regarding a contestant’s performance. Perhaps because they know by now that no matter how harsh and blunt his opinion, he is usually right and that in turn affect how people vote.

About the girls’ performance, I actually enjoyed Amanda Overmyer’s. It was a very clever song opinion and I have to admit she deserves to be in the top 12, especially if she keeps choosing the right songs. There are also strong performances by Carly Smithson and Brooke White. This week’s performances are obviously better compared to last week’s.

Seeing how good and evenly matched the contestants are, there are bound to be comparisons between this and the previous seasons. Most people even argue that this season is probably the best of all seven seasons of American Idol, both in terms of the contestants singing quality and personality.

Although some would argue that the endless gossip and rumors, and not to mention several ‘interesting’ information and pictures regarding some of the contestants that have surfaced either intentionally or un-intentionally also contributes to the popularity of American Idol this season. With a show as big as American Idol, there are bound to be gossips and rumors, but none are as surprising as the ones that this season brought up to the surface. If you want to know more, there is a column written by Kristin Dos Santos on her EOnline Gossip Column titled Watch With Kristin, regarding the latest gossip of some of the 12 contestants that I found recently.

Whether those rumors proved to be true or not, only time will tell.
