Again, More Motorcycles
Being a motorcycle rider for more than ten years through the streets of Jakarta, I know that being a motorcycle rider in Jakarta can be hazardous, even lethal sometimes; especially if you are not being careful enough. Safety riding is of utmost importance and also a must.
It could be that I am imagining things, but I feel that most motorcycle rider in Jakarta doesn’t really care about other people’s safety, all they care is themselves. They ride recklessly just so they can ride faster and get to their intended destinations faster, at the expense of other people that is.
If just half of the total motorcycle riders behave irresponsibly like that, you can perhaps begin to imagine what a chaos it was like. Every day the number of cars and motorcycles is increasing, while the road pretty much remained the same.
One of the thing that disturb me the most is, that most of those motorcycle rider think that they cannot be hold responsible for any accidents or misfortunes that happened to or because of them; regardless of their riding behavior. They even have the audacity to yell profanities at you even though the mistake was theirs. I am truly ashamed, I really do.
The bad thing about accidents here are the one who crashes into other first is the party who will be held responsible.
