To Rain Or Not To Rain

I don’t really know but I feel like this is not the first time I use that sentence as a base for a blog post’s title. Anyway, the weather is really strange lately. It rained daily early this week, although these last two days is quite dry. I remember it rained so heavily last Wednesday there are traffic jams everywhere because some parts of Jakarta got flooded.

I remember that it took me around 1 and a half hour to get home from the office where it usually took just around 40 minutes. Some of my friends even said that it took them more than 3 hours to get home. I don’t find it that surprising anymore because I experienced the traffic jams and the flooded areas myself. Public Servant

That is what I’ve been feeling lately. I feel like many people at work are using me somewhat to do things that I don’t think I should be doing at all. I admit it was partly my fault for being a little bit too helpful. I just can’t really help it somehow; it was me being me after all.

I feel like no one is really there to support me anymore. I guess all those work are really getting to me lately, which surely means that I really need to get some vacation. I don’t really like going on vacation, perhaps it could be because I am a somewhat lazy person to begin with.

Anyway, at a time like this even the idea of going on a vacation seem so alluring to me. Perhaps it was just a matter of when and where to go, although my favorite vacation would be spending the whole day doing nothing, just relaxing and having fun the whole day. Read the rest of this entry »

A Drop In Temperature

It has been a while since I last went home under the rain. I don’t really mind rain, especially since the weather is so dry lately, not to mention that the heat is uncomfortable. Even at night, the temperature is very hot and the air is so humid it makes me welcome the rain even more.

It feels colder tonight because of the rain this evening. Of course the rain makes the traffic jam worse, but it was a welcome change nevertheless. I am also glad because my roof is leaking no more. Considering that the rain was quite heavy although somewhat brief, it was a relief indeed. Read the rest of this entry »

At The Counter

Finally, my strength has returned, although I don’t want to risk working out again tonight. I decided to take one more day before I started doing my routine again. Catching cold sure is a nuisance, thank God I finally feel better tonight. Fortunately the cold is not severe, and hopefully tomorrow I will feel even better.

Anyway, these last few days I’ve been in several Supermarkets and I can’t help thinking about the system that they use at the counter / cashier. I know it wasn’t like your conventional personal computer at home, but more likely a specialized system made just for that purpose. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Getting Colder

If you read my last post about the weather, it doesn’t really mean that it has started to rain now. What I really mean is that I don’t feel quite well today, thanks to a light case of flu. My throat feels sore the whole day, my nose feels awful and overall I feel somewhat weak and dizzy.

At a time like this, the only effective medicine is getting enough rest, which I have to admit I didn’t get quite enough these last couple of weeks. I was thinking of calling sick to the office next thing in the morning, but there’s just so much things to do I don’t think I can really afford a day off.

I guess this is what you get for overworking yourself and not getting enough rest at the same time. If there’s anything that I lack, it is discipline. There are so many things to do and so little time to do it. You could say that it was some sort of justification for doing what I did.

Anyway, I really need to get some rest now, before my cold is getting worse. Later then!
