Feeling A Little Insecure

People nowadays worry too much. Do they really? How about, people nowadays care less about things and other people? I can’t really tell, though. Either one of those statements are relative, I say. It depends on the person and many factors that make it harder to tell.

Anyway, regardless of whether they care more or less, people nowadays felt the need to be secure. It is only when we are feeling secure that we are able to do our job undistracted. At least that’s my opinion, and I would appreciate if some of you would give some thoughts and insights about the matter.

How do people manage to feel secure nowadays? Someone said that with the right amount of money, you can actually buy everything, although this is debatable, very much so. But it is true that you can pay to feel more secure, that’s why we have insurance nowadays. Read the rest of this entry »

A Little Bit About Mortgage

I don’t live in the U.S. I am even not a U.S citizen, but like so many people in the world, we turn our attention to the U.S more often than before lately. The world is in recession, that’s what I read and heard people say, although how it will affect me; I still have very little idea.

One of the things that I heard was having a major impact on the U.S economy is the Mortgage problems. It seems that there’s a lot of people that cannot get out of debt and cannot afford to pay their mortgage anymore, which is really, really sad to hear.

I read that mortgage was originally comes from Old French, meaning ‘Dead Pledge’. You can read more about it on the Wikipedia page about mortgage. Because of this meaning, some people joked that it means that the debt will follow you until you died. It was somewhat funny, but only because it sounds rather ironic. Read the rest of this entry »

Sunbathing in the Office

A couple of days ago, I was standing inside of the empty meeting room, right next to the window which overlook to the crowded residential area, right behind the row of tall office buildings. I love standing there during the small break from work, sipping a cup of hot coffee while gazing far away to the horizon.

My favorite time was the morning hours before lunch, when I can feel the warmth of the sun upon my skin. It was very peaceful. Although I usually only stay for a minute or two, not even enough to finish my coffee, mind you. But it was enough solitude to refresh and prepare my mind for the never ending assignments that comes with work. Read the rest of this entry »

Renewed Respect of Sorts

It has been more than two months now since we didn’t have a maid anymore. Mostly it was full of tiring nights, when we need to do the clean ups all by ourselves. Perhaps some of you don’t even consider cleaning up the house all by yourself as a tiring thing to do. But nevertheless, living in a country where a maid’s wages are relatively affordable makes you somewhat spoiled.

Even though my wife and I shared the chores, where we have a deal that I should do the sweeping and mopping, and she would do the laundry. I usually did the dishes more often, but my wife did the ironing more often. We would cover for each other though, whenever one of us feels too tired to do the dishes or the ironing.

There’s actually much more details than I am willing to write here, being somewhat sleepy and all, but what I want to tell is how much we can learn to respect those people who do the small but important things, those people whom we would often took for granted. People who do things that we usually hate to do. Let’s face it now, who could honestly say that they love doing the laundry or the dishes? Read the rest of this entry »

Another Late Hour Gig

Oh well, it is not actually a ‘gig’, but I don’t really know how to put it otherwise. It’s actually those periods of times when you ended up doing a whole lot more thinking than you usually did. To be honest, I don’t really think that I can call it thinking. Daydreaming is more like it.

I just can’t help but thinking how fast time flies. The end of the year is nearing and with it, one of my favorite holiday. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday of the year. Although I have to admit that I liked it more back then when I was a lot younger, and the presents was abundant. Read the rest of this entry »
