A Change of Direction

It has been more than 6 years since I first joined the company where I work now. I have to admit that the older I get, the faster I feel that time is passing. I remember thinking back then when I was still in school about how slowly time passes. I never liked school that much though, but it had some very memorable and fun times also.

People use to say that you should get a job that you love, that way it won’t feel like you are working at all, you’re merely doing your hobby and get paid in the process. But real life doesn’t always go that way, because you can’t get everything you want. It was the same experience that I had for the first six years.

My job was quite fun and challenging, and I learned a great deal from it. Read the rest of this entry »

None the Wiser

Birthday is usually a happy occasion for people who celebrated it. What I usually find to be a little difficult is how to pick the right present whenever close relatives is having their birthday. I usually have a hard time thinking about what to write in the birthday greeting card.

Back then I usually write to wish them a long and happy life, but although (probably) we would love to live forever, writing this to elderly person is somewhat inappropriate for me. I mean, how long do we wish them to live? Lately, I began wishing them more wisdom for each time they got older. But yesterday, a friend of mine is responding differently. Airport Security in Jakarta

You might think it’s a strange title for a post especially coming from me, but I have to be honest, one of the thing that disappoint me is the lack of security in the airport here in Jakarta. There have been a lot of complaints about passenger’s lost luggage and belongings. Even then, the security is still lacking.

I don’t really know the statistics and my knowledge on this matter is somewhat limited. The main source where I got the news regarding this matter are from one of the local newspaper (KOMPAS) and from the internet news portal. But judging from the frequency of such news, I would say that there’s quite a lot of passengers which experiences such loss.

What usually happen is when people arrived here at Jakarta International Airport Soekarno-Hatta, and wait for their luggage to come out, only to find that it has been tampered with. I remembered reading about it once where the luggage is still intact with no signs of being tampered, but the valuables inside is missing. Read the rest of this entry »

Wii Want to Play!

I have to admit that Gaming is my favorite pastime activities with Reading, Eating and Napping tagging along not far behind it. To be honest Gaming is a passion which I used to take almost too seriously, doing a game again and again just so I can get the best possible ending, best possible stuffs, best possible level, and so on.

Back then in my teenage years I still had quite a lot of free time, a luxury which I don’t have now being a full time employee and a father of two small kids. I still try to put gaming into my schedule whenever I got the chance. I can still play around 1 - 2 hours a day which is good enough for me right now. Read the rest of this entry »

Need a New Ride

Harley DavidsonI just got back late from the office doing some installing while also cleaning up my workspace. As of next week, I will begin moving to a different post than what I usually do at my office. Working as a Customer Service for 6 years did have its ups and downs, and to be honest I learned a great deal from it. In the end, the need for a change is greater and when the opportunity arrived I took it without hesitation, well perhaps a little :)

The new post is surely fun and is better suited for me, at least in my own opinion, but I am really looking forward to it. Perhaps you could say that I the tedious and sometimes repetitive routine get to me in the end. Anyway, the new post that I have transferred into is surely not lacking in assignments, and that’s how I ended up going home late from the office.

Going home late has its own benefit though; Read the rest of this entry »
