I Need A Vacation

Travel SafeNo, really, I really do need a vacation. It has been quite some time since I last went on a vacation. Since my kids are still considered a toddler, I decided not to go on a vacation, at least not until my kids is big enough to leave on a minimal supervision.

But I might have to reconsider though. Perhaps we can still go to a vacation, provided that the destination is not very far from where we live. That way we can keep the hassle to a minimum since we won’t need to take a lot of stuff with us.

Someday I wish to have a vacation to a faraway place such as Europe. I have never traveled that far before so I admit that there are things that could happen that would render the vacation as a disaster. Read the rest of this entry »

After American Idol Season 7 Has Ended

David Cook and David Archuleta walking togetherWell, at least for this season it has ended, just wait until it starts again next year! I heard they are trying to implement new changes to the show in order to keep it interesting. One of them is by lowering the age requirements to 14.

I don’t really know, but in my opinion 14 years old is too young to be experiencing such pressure and exposure. I don’t think it will be good for those young hopefuls, especially considering how cruel a reality show can be.

With an age gap of 14 years, I think it will also be unfair to those who are at the lowest age group, both from experience and singing skill point of view. You just can’t expect to find a singing prodigy like David Archuleta that easily. And to be honest, it is also not good for their vocal chords. Read the rest of this entry »

Slippery When Wet

I have always wanted to make a post with such a title, I think it is fun! Anyway, I have a very good balance, but there are times when I was not as careful as I usually am. And also it comes from being a young person, in my opinion, but I have slipped before whether in the garage, the bathroom and even when exercising.

When we’re standing or walking on a dry surface, friction helps us keep our balance. But when we’re standing on a wet surface with little friction, it is getting very hard to do so, especially if the surface is also covered in soap or other cleaning agent which makes the surface very slippery.

That is actually quite dangerous, especially to elderly people whose balance and reflexes is not as good as we are. Read the rest of this entry »

Keeping A Steady Body Weight Is Not Easy

I’ve noticed lately that people are showing more interest in their health. They are more careful of what they eat, they tried to exercise regularly and more importantly they also tried to lose their weight. Perhaps that is because there is a lot of illness that is caused by weight problems.

People who are overweight have bigger chance to experience health problem, such as heart attack, cardiac arrest or diabetes. So people are trying their best to lose their weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. There are gyms everywhere in Jakarta. From the most modest to the most exclusive, they offer people a way to get healthier. Read the rest of this entry »

The Rise Of Gasoline Prices In Indonesia

Because of the recent steady increase of global oil prices, the Indonesian Government decided that it can no longer subsidize gasoline prices without sacrificing the nation’s spending budget. So on May 24th at exactly midnight, the price of gasoline is increased around 30% for standard leaded fuel (Premium) from Rp 4.500,- to Rp 6.000,-; and around 15% for diesel fuel (Solar) from Rp 4.350,- to Rp 5.000,-.

Just like the price increase around 3 years ago in year 2005, last night you can witness people queuing at almost all gas station in the country in order to buy fuel at its old price, until midnight that is. At some gas stations, the queue line even reached 500m long. And police are deployed at gas stations around the country to prevent criminal act. Read the rest of this entry »
