It Is Not Easy To Have A Pet

I guess it is only a matter of time before my children ask me for their very own pet. Although that time could still be 5 or even more years from now. But when the time really comes will I be able to grant them their wish to have a pet?

I used to have a pet too when I was young, and it was always a dog. I’ve never had another kind of pet than dogs. And my wife also had a dog when she was young. That way, I feel it is rather unfair if I didn’t grant my children’s wish to have a pet. Read the rest of this entry »

The Forbidden Kingdom Movie

Jet Li and Jackie Chan dishing it out.Being a longtime martial artist myself, I am sure you can already guess who my favorite martial arts movie stars are. Jet Li and Jackie Chan are one of my favorite martial arts movie stars, and you can also imagine how happy I am when I first heard that they are going to make a movie together and an action movie nonetheless!

Of course I won’t object if they want to make a drama movie together sometime in the future. Although I’m sure that they can actually play a drama movie together, most of their fan probably won’t be very happy. Jet and Jackie are already considered today’s most favorite martial arts movie star, and doing a different movie altogether won’t be as successful in my opinion.

Back to the movie. It was very good in my opinion and beside the obvious main stars, the other star are well cast. You just can’t find a better person to play the antagonist in martial arts movie than Collin Chou. I also love him in the Matrix when he played as the Seraph. He has played with Jet Li several times now.

Li Bing Bing or Liu Yi Fei, which one will you choose? And Li Bing Bing is just beautifully cold as the White Haired Demoness, while Liu Yi Fei also fits the role of Golden Sparrow. But I have to admit I like her better as the ‘past’ Golden Sparrow rather than the ‘present’, she just looks too modern for me and her clothing, makeup and hairdo just doesn’t fit the last scene. The Importance of Insurance

Last night when I was on my routine weekly choir rehearsal I heard sad news. It seems that the choir former member’s husband has passed away. They were married for two years and this news kinda caught me off guard. As it happened her husband is only 28 years old.

28 years old! That was still very young, well he was younger than me for sure. It seems that he died because of Angina, although I’m not a hundred percent sure because I only heard what the other choir members said. And what makes me sadder is the fact that he left a wife and a child which is only 1 year old. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Raining Money

Or at least it is going to rain money. How is that possible? Apparently on June 1st 2008 at 8:30AM, one of Indonesia’s well known motivator persona, Tung Desem Waringin, will pour down money worth 100 million Rupiahs from a small Jabiru plane above the east parking area in Senayan Complex, Jakarta.

I’m kind of surprised when I read the news about it on one of the Indonesia’s most well-known Digital News Site Detik dot Com. Although the latest news stated that they haven’t got a permit yet from the Jakarta Metro Police Department. It is said that there is a possibility that the event could be postponed if they don’t get the permit in time. Read the rest of this entry »

How Easy Things Breakdown

Just a couple of weeks ago, someone bought the empty house just in front of my house. But since the house is not in a good condition anymore, the new owner has to renovate it first, although he didn’t do a total renovation because he kept the walls intact.

But the walls are the only thing that is still intact and in good condition. So the new owner still has to do a major renovation. He replaced the roof and changes the layout of the house a bit. The house is not very big, but I think it is enough for a small family to live in.

That makes me think though, how long will it be until he has to renovate again. Five? Or perhaps ten years? Nowadays the quality of material is degrading, but perhaps that is just a way to keep the cost from getting to expensive. But for that we have to sacrifice on the quality.
