WordPress 2.5 Released

This must be the most blogged about topic in the blogging world right now, even the top blog sites are posting about it although perhaps not very detailed yet. Considering that a lot of people are using WordPress as the basis of their blog, this is not a very surprising thing. I myself use WordPress for building my blog and so far I have to say that I am very satisfied with it. Besides allowing people who have nothing or minimal knowledge in web building to have a very professional blog, it is also easy enough to install.

If you want to build your own blog, WordPress is quite frankly the best choice for you, because most hosting companies now provide the tool to build WordPress with just a couple of mouse clicks. Read the rest of this entry »

American Idol Top 9

Chikezie EzeOh dear, it has been a while since I last wrote my take of the American Idol Contestants’ Performance here. I sure missed a lot of opportunity to write about them. My last post about AI is about a week ago, when there are still 11 contestants left. But now they are only 9 contestants left from that 11, time sure flies fast, doesn’t it?

The last 2 weeks saw David Hernandez, Amanda Overmyer, and Chikezie failed to get enough votes to keep them staying. I already write about why I think David Hernandez is the first to go on my last post about American Idol. Actually it is better considered a semi-post rather than a full post about American Idol, but you get the idea. Oh, I also happened to read somewhere in the internet that David Hernandez is auditioning for a part in Broadway’s hit musical ‘Rent’. Read the rest of this entry »

Firstmedia – Affordable Internet in Jakarta

First Media’s HomepageIf you happened to read my previous post about internet connection in Indonesia which I wrote around 3 weeks ago, then you should’ve known that right now, I am using Fastnet internet service from Firstmedia. As of now, they own the only cable TV and internet network in Indonesia, they are also the first one to offer unlimited broadband internet with speed ranging from 384Kbps to 3Mbps, and not to mention a very reasonably priced internet service. As of now, they have the best price for internet service in Jakarta, Indonesia.

At Firstmedia, a 384Kbps unlimited internet connection is priced at IDR 99.000 (around USD 10) and that is as cheap an internet connection that you can find in Jakarta at the moment. But in order to subscribe to their internet service, they also require you to be a subscriber of their Cable TV service. With a basic plan priced at IDR 99.000 it brings their most basic plan of internet and cable TV service to a fee of IDR 188.000 (around USD 20) and that is in my opinion, the most reasonably priced internet connection in Jakarta at the moment. How To Know If Your Site Has Been Duplicated

Copyscape Website’s ScreenshotAs any webmaster will tell you, in the internet the most important thing is traffic. Even if your writing skill could earn you a Pulitzer prize, if no one is actually reading your writing, then your writing skill will do you no good. But if your writing skill is good or even just okay, and there are hundreds or even thousands of people who read and actually likes your writing, then you have much more to gain.

When you write about something you like, or if writing is one of your passion, surely you don’t want people to plagiarize your writing and claim it as their own. But since there are literally millions of blogs out there in the Internet, finding out whether one or several blog has done just that is almost, if not, impossible. Read the rest of this entry »

Right Here Waiting

Who am I waiting for? Well actually it is better if I rephrase the word and wrote WHAT I am waiting for instead. Actually there are two things that I am waiting right now. The first one is the American Idol Top 11 Show tonight, and the second is the news regarding my blog approval status from Pay Per Post.

If you are a fan of the American Idol show, then you should know that David Hernandez is going home last week. If America voted for their favorite contestants based on singing prowess alone, I don’t think he is the one to go home last week. Read the rest of this entry »
